Retailer Spotlight: Online

Hello my partners in crime…Sewing that is!!!

It is sad to announce that Button Emporium in Portland will close the last week of December.  Marvis, the owner, said they are retiring.  He will not be restocking any inventory—what he has is it, so if you are reading this before the end of the year, it is important to go shopping and stock up on those very special buttons and ribbons that will be harder to find.  I thanked him for 20 years of stocking a beautiful selection of buttons and ribbons for us to choose from.

Also, by the time you read this Rose City Textiles will have closed,  their last day was December 13th.  I spoke with the fabulous Annette Leiser-Gauthier and thanked her for her help and great service all these years and wished her the best in her future adventures.

Due to very wintery weather I did not get to visit any new store locations in person, but I did visit some online shops.  How about sitting in your nice warm house drinking a nice warm beverage and ordering some fun and beautiful fabrics.  Check out some of the big sites that have a surprisingly huge selection of fabrics sold by individuals.  Amazon, Etsy and Craftsy all have just about any kind of fabric and price range you can think of.  Then the next group would be some of your favorite local stores, such as:  Mill End, Fabric Depot, Bolt.  When we cannot get there in person, you can still support their businesses by shopping online.

Happy Holidays and lots of crazy/fun sewing this time of year!!
