Standalone Bag by Gillian Wallis
Gillian Wallis saw a bag at a knitting retreat and it really intrigued her. She took pictures and measurements and more pictures. The she went home to reverse engineer the bag. She doesn’t like to hand-finish sewing so she developed a construction process that is, perhaps, unconventional. Friends liked the bag so she started teaching them how to make it—and it blossomed into a pattern business selling her Standalone Bag.
On February 11, 2012, at our quarterly meeting, Gillian showed us different bags in different fabrics (because the fabric combinations make them fun.) She showed us bags she’s made and gave us seing tips on making bags.
Then we got to sewing.
