Quilted Jacket Sewing Day – Nov. 7, 2026
☀️🧵 CRS Quilted Jacket Festival Day!
This session is dedicated to sewing a quilted jacket together using pieces you’ve prepared ahead of time. Everyone makes their own personal choice of a quilted (or other) jacket pattern.
What to Expect:
Terese S. will facilitate. Expect friendly collaboration and shared problem-solving

- General instruction suggestions through the day
- Help with construction order and techniques
- Troubleshooting.
- A relaxed pace—work as far as you comfortably can. There is no pressure to finish.
- End the day with a quilted jacket fashion show-no matter what stage of construction

📅 Valid for attendees only on the day of the event – November 7, 2026, only
- Classroom doors and the Mill End Store open at 9:30 AM on Saturdays
- Enter from the north side of store. Do not haul your stuff through the front, main store entrance.
- We must be packed up and out by 5:00 PM sharp (store closes at 5:00)
Kaiser Classroom – Enter from the north side of the store (not the main entrance).The door is always locked — please be careful not to let it close completely when entering or exiting

Note: Montavilla Sewing is adjacent to the Mill End Store, and has thread, other supplies, and techs if your machine gives you trouble.
🧰 What to Bring –
- Prepare your fabric and have pieces cut-out and ready to sew on Nov 7.
- There is no/little cutting or layout space in the sewing room. Please bring your jacket pieces cut out and ready to sew.
🧵 Sewing Essentials

- ✔ Your pre-cut quilted jacket main pieces, ready to sew. See preparation information and decisions attached to this message.
- ✔ Operational sewing machine, feet. Machine troubleshooting is not available from the facilitators. Montavilla Sewing is next door to Mill End and has service staff, machine supplies, etc.to help if you have machine troubles or need feet or other supplies.
- ✔ Sewing tools:
- Pins and clips
- Walking foot for your machine if you haven one, not required, but may help if bulky fabric
- Scissors
- Extra sewing machine needles
- Coordinating thread
- Power Strips and extension cords CRS has, and if possible good to bring.
- ✔ Small pressing supplies (if you have them) There are 2 ironing boards and sometimes a couple of irons. Good idea to bring an iron, but we do not need everyone to.

- Extension cord or power strip for your machine.
🥪 Comfort & Snacks

- Lunch and/or snacks. Best to bring your lunch/snacks, as restaurants are a bit away. Uwajimaya grocery has a deli bar and is just north of the classroom
- Only Drinks with secure lids
- Optional: chair cushion for extra comfort. Lighting is great in the classroom, so probably do not need to bring a light.
Fashion Show at the End of the Day!
We’ll end the day with:
